Writing a Maya chapter as we speak. Deel V is the section revolving around the rumour mill, and Maya's chapter is the third party uninvolved. It's a character chapter. It's also going to be as long as the two chapters preceding it, if it matters.

also, not trying to convince you, but have you considered maybe just re-doing this from the ground up? i feel that it might be wise in order to prevent the story from feeling stitched together, or do you have a plan to prevent this from happening?

That was the initial impression, yes, and I intended that for the placeholder specifically, so I can make you THINK it was that, but in my current manuscript that has been largely abandoned because I've expanded the narrative so much for the bottle smack to just be the starting gun for everything else.
