If you want to draw the body, I recommend learning basic human anatomy before you start drawing more cartoony characters. The human body is a foundation that you can work with and change to fit your style.
Find some videos on de 'tube to help you draw a basic human body.

Just tracing alone isn't going to get you anywhere. To draw a figure effectively, you'd have to be mindful of the distances between each section of the body and observe every segment as if it were in a 3D space (the latter is a bit hard so just focus on the former for now)
A good exercise would be to pull up a person in some kind of normal pose and then trying to replicate the pose using a basic skeleton. You can start with "tracing" by directly pinpointing the different segments on the body and drawing the skeleton directly on the image, but at some point you'll have to move to copying without that.

imo just surround yourself with shit you want to draw like, as wallpapers, posters or whatever, until you can recall details of it with your eyes shut. it's more about being able to picture the energy of it in your mind before you put pen to paper. also just scribble a lot, think of it as jotting down ideas

how to know you've actually improved is that you don't hate your old art, you simply glance over it and aren't interested. if it makes you cringe then it's probably better than you think, you just haven't figured out how to separate the interesting part from the slop

Stop drawing, use AI slop or whatever. Generations nowadays love soulless art or whatever and if you produce a drawing or an art that you work hard to draw, if they don't like it they call it cringe. Why risk being called cringe when you can take the easy path of generating easier AI slop? Just stifle your creativity and give in to the AI overlords. Human consciousness is dead anyway.

Just practice, nodoby is born an artist capable of replicating the Mona Lisa, so just draw and draw, until you have instinctively learned the basics, it gets fun from there
Besides I can't really teach someone how to draw without seeing how they themselves draw, so the best advice (and the only one) I can give is to practice basic shapes a lot, then do some tracing in order to "feel" it, and lastly just use what you like in your drawings.
It's a shame I can't really teach people since I'm bad with words

Btw I usually skip parts while drawing, and most of the time start drawing from the HAIR, practices considered forbidden by sperg artists btw
I have failed numerous times and drawn horrible things just to pull that shit off, and I still have hard times under specific circumstances but it's not big deal
In resume: draw lines until your hand feels like exploding until you can draw them freely and fast, that's how I do it
