THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVE, AND HUMANITIES EAGERNESS TO FORGET IT
When youre born into this world youre left alive by nothing but unconditional love and affection from your parents, to zero benefit to themselves they cater to your needs and as you grow this affection falls into normalcy to you, you forget how valuable it is and how it was the thing that kept you alive when you needed it the most
le heckin peer reviewed studies show orphans (people without parents) show lower IQ scores, same goes with any animal or being this is experimented on, love is quite litterally the thing that grows you as a person and this is why i think its so important to be as much of a loving person as possible
If love can grow the singular mind of one person 10-20 iq points higher in their childhood, imagine how much further it could grow our collective minds as a society if we were more loving to one another? why are many of us ashamed to tell friends of ours we love them, or for some even their parents?
The word magic originates from the ancient word magi, or you may more recognise as "mage", magi meant a wise person and back then people believed wisdom came from studying the infinite, so theyd study whatever they thought was never ending like the stars, their thoughts, mathematics and ect, but in this universe theres only one true infinite thing, and that is love
Out of all emotions you can only hold them for so long till they slip through your fingers like sand, but you can love forever, if a mother and a child was alive forever the mothers unconditional love would never fade away, love is a feeling no one has a shortage of, so pour your heart out to all of those around you, even if they reject your love at first or forever dont gate your love from them

there 100% is a benefit for themselves: emotional fulfillment. people give birth to children because they expect it to bring them happiness, it is not a selfless act by any stretch of the imagination.
i’m not dismissing his message, i’m just saying that that specific part is incorrect.

Did you know that playing basketball professionally increases one's height, and the higher your achievements, the taller you get on average?
Everything can be looked at as selfish if you reduce it to such. Every self sacrifice can be seen as in some way benefitting the actor, it's a reductive and stupid way of thinking
i didn’t say having children is selfish, i just said it wasn’t selfless. i view it more as a morally neutral act.
having children is not a self sacrifice because the only one who benefits is the actor, it’s not like there are any nonexistent children wishing to exist. giving birth is no different than work, you put yourself through discomfort and expect to be rewarded with something. compare the motivations of having children (i want to continue my legacy, i want someone to be with me, i think babies are cute) to giving money to the homeless (i want to help others).
Well, from the genetic perspective everything people do is indeed selfish.
>I want to give to the homeless because it makes me feel morally righteous and makes me sleep better at night
>I want to give to the homeless because my monkey neurons are compelling me to act in a way that's perceived as moral in order to feel good about myself and I can't resist these biological impulses
>I want to give to the homeless because it aches my heart seeing them suffer like so, and I don't like my heart aching
See how easy it is to twist anything into a selfish act?
And of course having children is a self sacrifice, ask any parent. It takes your time, your calm, your health, your youth, it takes EVERYTHING. Raising a child isn't owning a fucking pet. You give a piece of yourself to bring and nurture another human into existence.
The OP was probably Nook geg there was nothing glorious about that

I imagine people with lower IQ are a little less likely to live long lives and therefore their kids are would be a little more likely to be orphans. More importantly, orphans have a lot of other environmental factors that would be just as likely as a lack of love to lower their IQs.
