>>5569 i didn’t say having children is selfish, i just said it wasn’t selfless. i view it more as a morally neutral act. having children is not a self sacrifice because the only one who benefits is the actor, it’s not like there are any nonexistent children wishing to exist. giving birth is no different than work, you put yourself through discomfort and expect to be rewarded with something. compare the motivations of having children (i want to continue my legacy, i want someone to be with me, i think babies are cute) to giving money to the homeless (i want to help others).
