It was not a fact but a possibility according to what she said in the Mayamails.
Given the fact that the mayamails aren't canon and OP's stance is being taken into questioning, and the fact that even if it were canon Maya still didn't go through it with it continually leads me to confirm this fact as unsubstantiated, if not outright false
Even if she did, her parents would be negligent enough not to notice.
Negligent parents are the number 1 reason someone wakes up at night and thinks of intricate ways of how to avoid social situations, or ask themselves why their life is shit or why they end up cutting themselves

In reality, there are many aspects of Ongezellig that cannot be confirmed as true or false. These are merely theories or speculations due to the lack of content and details in the plot.

okay so let's start with the basics, we have his "claim" which goes as follows and i quote:

To that OP attaches a frame from the show "ongezellig" which is a dutch indie animation created by "studio massa".
In the 20 something minutes of animation we get to see a few sides of Maya, we get to see multiple personalities of hers, how she acts in her safe spaces such as for example her room alone and more stressful situations such as for example in the school working on the presentation which the frame attached to OP's post comes from btw if that matters.
Maya does wear a hoodie as pointed out to OP, to some it might seem strange since others are clothed rather lighter like mymy with a simple t-shirt or whatever that is i'm not a clothes guy alright cut me some slack. With that being said Coco on the other hand does have some kind of shirt as well with sleeves, but i suppose OP might have gotten to the conclusion that it might be warm or even hot to which it might seem unlogical to him that someone would wear something as "extreme" as a hoodie. OP fails to take into account what kind of person Maya is, that she has a lot of issues especially social issues. For Maya wearing the hoodie can be just a coping mechanism to feel safer. We also get the glimpse into Mayas mind, in multiple instances we see how she thinks how she acts and so on, one of those being, when she was all alone in the toilet imagining herself with her friends and such. We literally got to see her standing on a roof "ready" to jump, but she doesn't. Now that could give a false idea that she does cut herself and such because

but usually those that are cutting themselves if they would have already imagined themselves killing themselves/were actually standing on a rooftop, i would imagine there being a higher than usual rate of success.
Maya has some of her quirks and issues, which MAY falsely lead some of us to believing some rather insane things, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
We also had the Mayamails or whatever again i'm not exactly typical Zaryan, or at least wouldn't consider myself such but that's just me, Where we were told explicitly that she DID try once, or something along those lines but i'm not exactly sure but she either didn't go through with it at all, or stopped like immediately, either way it'd be safe to assume there was little to no scars to hide and even if they'd heal overnight.
