Yes, but probably about the idea of a show, not the exact designs and some of the characterization. Because the design from Maya is a mix of Tomoko, Mayo and whatever that character Mitchell is called. Again, it doesn't help that the suspiciously Maya looking character talks about ADD, that's already 2 big coincidences, but I will have to watch the rest of the show first

You could also argue that Mymy is a rip-off of Little My from Moomins (her name come from the Afrikaans version, after all). Coco fits the archetype of every popular, naive/silly blonde girl in high school who's into sports. And Maya? Sad, neglected girls are the backbone of every high school-themed series

Since there's only a pilot and some scraps of ideas, the characters seem very unoriginal at first (or even second) glance (even if they're based on Massa's experiences, I bet his teenage years weren't all that unique)

Massa could have been inspired by Strange Hill High, but it’s just as likely that both he and the creators of SHH were inspired by the same things or simply made similar artistic choices
