what is your favorite deel and why do you like it?

Deel 5. It has the most story and conflict, especially between Maya and Coco. Shame we couldn't see proper character arcs and growth from the both of them.
Also Mymy is sadly lacking in the character writing department to be honest...

Similar to what >>46220 wrote, albeit I see it as a summary of the main issue. We can see in it Maya and Coco follow different approaches to an issue, and we can see the incompatibility between them, and why resolving Maya's problem(s) is (nigh) impossible.
It's also the point where the show got serious for me. It has a different outro music and end screen compared to the previous deels. Maya isn't just turning in her bed, but staring at the ceiling.

What if the end is that Maya remains lonely despite having the option to make connections with others? What if there's nothing more to it because Maya doesn't believe that she can fix her problems, and thus won't try?

Write your own stories, draw your comics and make animations. Ongezellig (or any other art piece, for that matter) isn't inherently tied to the author. You likely will not be able to create what Massa would've created, but it will still be able to express and articulate emotions.

I think the continuation to Ongezellig can be found in your own experiences. If you're anything like Maya, and you ask the question "will Maya ever become better?", just take a look at yourself. Maya on her own will never change, and that is the bittersweet truth

As sad as I am about it, I kinda understand Massa's reasons. Making and greenlighting a show is insanely difficult and stressful, especially when it lacks the popularity to the same extent things like Hazbin Hotel have. There's also the matter of able to relate to his audience and the fact that he's been working on this for nearly 7 years now. The best we can do is hope that something changes and Massa picks up the project again in some way/shape/form.

It is comforting to live in a dream, but eventually it is time to wake up. I have accepted that Ongezellig is never coming back, it's relieving in a way. We are free to shape zellig the way we want to.

Ongezellig was a passion project of Massa about a socially inept child, taboo jokes and his own previous works.
The characters and concept of the show should be treated as a medium of expression, not as holy scripture that only Massa has the authority to shape and tell.
