I've been trying to make a Coco voice to read the next chapters, but I haven't been able to get the same results I get with the Vera model. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet on it and continue using the Vera model. I've been stockpiling soymys, so I'll probably try to catch up to where I should be now.

it might be that the input audio is a voice that is too deep for coco, but just fine for vera. see if you can pitch-shift the input audio before processing it, or find an already higher-pitch recording of the reading
