While on a short trip into rural America I was looking for a place to buy raw milk. The farm I went to had a woman tending to dairy in a shed and we talked a bit and I asked her where she was from because she had an odd accent and she said she was from South Africa. She left when ANC took over because of die plaasmoorde and grandparents who were sick (I don't think she abandoned them) and went to the Netherlands to get her degree in farming then moved to America, I presume because the Netherlands was too urbanized and bureaucratic. After some awkward conversation we shook hands and I went on my way with my stuff.

She wasn't there and it seemed like the farm was unoccupied the day I decided to arrive so I didn't get to hand her the gift. But I thought of an idea: we can spread Ongezellig to farms all across the world, implanting the show into obscure rural populations from Valentine to Vitim. Even though the show is dead it can still live on in some fashion.
