While on a short trip into rural America I was looking for a place to buy raw milk. The farm I went to had a woman tending to dairy in a shed and we talked a bit and I asked her where she was from because she had an odd accent and she said she was from South Africa. She left when ANC took over because of die plaasmoorde and grandparents who were sick (I don't think she abandoned them) and went to the Netherlands to get her degree in farming then moved to America, I presume because the Netherlands was too urbanized and bureaucratic. After some awkward conversation we shook hands and I went on my way with my stuff.
