that opinion always bothered me because it's not a strict rule, Dutch is a language that commonly uses apostrophes to shorten words in casual speak, such as het -> 't, des -> 's and mijn -> m'n. I can totally see someone saying 'zellig in conversation as a shortened version of gezellig, because this type of stuff is common.
