Well, I've just given you an example that people used to be banned for even less edgy stuff, but anyway what you have described is a people problem, not a rules problem. I rarely ban anyone and when I do, it's CP or gore or porn and in such cases the ban should be permanent (evendoe it's all VPN bans so it's just virtue signalling), last time I saw a frog it was a 1 week ban. My guess is that the jannies got lazy, permanent ban is the default and anything else requires writing down the ban length, but it's not something I would care about, I'm not going to fix someone else's bans because I'm not obsessed.

Outta pocket posts used to be a gray area and sort of a toss up for what will happen (reflected in the rules at the time), take >>>/zellig/13393 for example. You can search rapeable on /zellig/ and see the most recent post was a perma ban while the older ones were untouched. Browsing old posts also shows there was a lot more file deletion than bans and I remember a lot more timed bans rather than permas. It was just a different approach to moderation.
And the reason I bring up the false positives is to show the jannies have gotten emboldened to take undue action as further evidence to the shift happening, I wasn't attacking (You) in particular (although all jannies ARE trannise)
