Hellow everyone!
I am here to announce that i have made a decision. I shall not sell the site to anybody else, as I feel that this would be for the worse (if we are to learn from sharty or website history in general). I will continue to be the head admin (or atleast the guy who pays for the servers).
However, due to the fact that ongezellig and its demoghraphic has changed, i don't see a future for the site if we continue to be the "sharty zellig site". For this, i shall rebrand the site to be focused more on general OC creation, such as art, music, programming ect. Worry not, the site shall keep its identity as the zarty and it shall not forget it's origin, culture and history.
The boards shall be orginised like this:
/q/ shall stay
/zellig/ and /qa/ shall be merged and /zellig shall become the main general board
/brabant/ shall stay
/co/ shall be removed, as its was a failed experiment and the topics in there could easilly be disscused in /zellig/
/raid/'s fait is unknown for now
new OC boards shall be added - /art/, /music/, /writting/, /coding/
if you have better names for boards or have new board ideas in generl, let me know.
Old threads may be lost. An archive of these threads shall be made.

I agree that more general OC creation and focus would be beneficial to the future of the site. I don't think that /zellig/ and /qa/ should be merged. /zellig/ should be for Ongezellig and the Zarty, not a general board. A rebranding of /qa/ as a general board and increased use of it is fine, but the two entities should remain separate.
As for /raid/, I think it should stay, but we would then need to build a more consistent raiding culture, mabye even be allowed to do some doxxes.
Jumping in real quick to asure you that all mods who have been found to abuse internet protocols have been notified to recieve a full on permanent ban and ass-whopping from the admins if they are found doing that again. We wish to move away from that past and make anonymity a top-priority for the moderation team.
However we find it rather difficult to full on remove their ability to see IPs, we have experimented with the ideas of user IDs and IP cloaks, but I assure you that your post history and any identifiable information is completely safe henceforth
To atleast look at the bright side, Zoot will stay with us.
/q/ - discussion about the zarty, needs to stay
/zellig/ - zellig, obviously stays here
/qa/ - shitpost/soyquotes/random - no need for these topic to pollute the zellig discussion
/brabant/ - politics, board with flags
/co/, /raid/ - dead niggers of a board, to be removed
/art/ - ok, we have some artists here that make art and animation, may become useful
/music/, /writing/, /coding/ - i don't think there will be enough users to make these boards alive, but their existence may attract them, let's try
/games/ or /v/ - weird that it didn't make it to the list, we obviously have some people that make games
also a spam-free board for more serious discussions (on any topic) could be made
Keep /q/, /qa/, /zellig/, and /brabant/ as they are. But lump all the new boards under a /creative/ or /oc/ board of sorts. No need to clutter. Keep /v/ for the (hopefully) soon-to-be-implemented zellig games integration.
Maybe make an /mtv/ board for discussion of tv shows, video games, comics, cartoons, and movies; if the people are inclined to that idea. This way the total number of boards stays the same.

the idea of merging /zellig/ and /qa/ is that since the site isnt going to be zellig focused, i can merge the two boards together and /zellig/ can act as a general use board.
/qa/ is already an "offtopic" board (/brabant/ is also of such kind, but with flags for all the race baiters!). I don't see why we should use two "general topic" boards.
I guess we could also try a transitional period, where other topics would be allowed in limited form, to test the waters.

i like this idea! Also yeah /v/ stays. For now i wont touch it until i have the servers set up. I dont know if only lig games would be allowed in the fututre doe. If a game was made here and is cool, i can put it on /v/. I want this site to act as a way to promote OC and to give a platform for creators to post about their creation.

I have the feeling that the only type of raid that is ever mentioned these days is doxxing. If this is mostly what raiding has come to, i think i am better off removing that board.

If you really want a place focused on OC, /qa/ is there, why not use that board? Change the description from "sharty culture etc" to "OC making o algo". The strong point of the zarty was always the fact that it was an intersection between Ongezellig and soy culture.

/qa/ is a general use board. the idea is to make the site focused on general OC usage and media sharing, not just one board.

The original point of the zarty was to be a place for the teens who liked lig to have a place to chill, since early Froot era was a bit weird. It was also for lig OC and other activities (basically a /zellig/ themed bunker). Both the sharty and zellig were vastly different from what they are right now.
From my point of view, the sharty is dead. What made it fun is gone and is a sincking ship. The demoghraphic has also drastically changed. I dont find joy going to that site anymore for a lot of reasons.
Ongezellig is a fininshed project. Massa has moved on from the "show", which all it has is a pilot and a bunch of promotional art. This is not a good enough base for a community to last on its own. I saw a bunch of people coping and trying to continue Ongezllig (like ROY and the other one) to try and inspire Massa to continue. Others make drama and attempt to spread it. A lot of the people that i used to know from lig and the sharty have moved on.
At one point, i wanted to just close the site, since i thought that i gained what i could from this project and there was nothing else to learn from it. The only reason that i am rethinking this is because a bunch of people wanted the site to contine (as just another generic altchan...how original). If its going to continue, then i atleast wish it to be themed around something i am interested in - original content. I cant find an imageboard that focuses on amature content creators sharing their creations, building up connections and sharing tips/opinions.
Some may not like this. I dont force you to be here, although i woudnt mind zellig discussion and OC (some i still enjoy but its not the same as it used to be). People can still go to the sharty and it's splinters and interact with whatever userbase is still left there. I dont care if the site dies because of this shift. I have nothing to lose except a bunch of money for an idea that i find worth trying and seeing where it goes. If it fails, then whatever. I would still be satisfied with how the site went.

If somebody wishes to host a zarty 'ru, then cool. I dont have any interest in doing so. It would be better to have a MEGA file with up to date art and such (like previous ones).
i have noticed that there are a bunch of dudes who just use the overboard. Somebody suggested the /oc/ board solution, which i am also fine with for now. I will add more boards if the community grows.
zoot, if you want this to be a safe space for content creation you should add auto metadata cleansing to zarty. right now photos uploaded to zarty have full raw metadata down to the gps info

I suppose it is finally time to admit that zellig lost. After all, there is only so much you can do with 25 minutes of video, a few comics and some artworks. What we’ve done and achieved is truly amazing and I am grateful to have been a part of it. I am relatively new, only browsing the Zarty since April 26 of this year, but there hasn’t been a single day where zellig wasn’t on my mind. I love Ongezellig and the Zarty, but perhaps it is time for me to move on. I hope that you’re OC creation ib is a success and that ligposting will have some remanence of what it once was. Thank you all, it’s been great.

There's still a future for the site. Yes maybe not for the show but for fanwork and discussions regarding it's culture and themes yes why now. Lainchan stayed for a long time, so why not us as well?
Also I recommend we combine all the OC boards into /oc/ in general so as not to waste space
We do need a new Zellig. Like a piece of media that we can hold onto with the same values we already have now. Soyjaks are a great return as always, but we may need something new. Probably create a new thing then?
For me at least, there will be nothing to replace Ongezellig with, it won't be the same. There have been plenty of media and communities around it that I really enjoyed in the past, but Ongezellig is different. Likely because I am Dutch myself and zellig has strengthened my love and interest for my nation and culture. Aside from it being Dutch the show and Zaryan community really resonates with me, that might be able to be replicated, but I still won't be the same.
when i first read your plan, i heavily opposed the idea of this becoming a general use imageboard, but you elaborating on what exactly you wanted this website to become did ease my worries a bit. something i like about the Zarty is that its slow pace and overall relaxed atmosphere encourages effort posting, and your idea for an imageboard seems to be one centered around effort posting.
something i’m still extremely worried about is that changing the site’s theme to a more general one might attract an influx users, and ones who never cared about Ongezellig at that. this might be a controversial opinion, but i’ve never wanted this website to grow, i’ve always wanted it to feel like a tightly knit and comfortable community, and keeping the theme to something as obscure and specific as Ongezellig insured that it’d stay that way. when i post here, i feel like i’m actually contributing to something rather than putting another drop in the ocean.
for this reason, i’d still prefer to keep the site Ongezellig themed, but your alternative isn’t awful.
