You see, the city of Springfield in The Simpsons is very multicultural because this is the ideal society Matt Groening and the writers want, they also portray in some episodes (ableit post-90s episodes) as ellis island inmigrants even doe they are clearly WASPs, but the wtiters believe america was founded on inmigration even doe it was european inmigration, and also Apu was created by Matt to show his respect for "hardworking indian inmigrants"
