Hail, Zaryans <Ledditspace I have some questions about Ongezellig fanfiction for you all. Most importantly, what is it you look for in a written fan-work? Is it worth it to you to bother reading about the source material at all without at least some visual aid or medium? If so, what's the bar for quality you'd tolerate? "Genre" preferences? Slice-of-life, interpersonal drama, comedy, adventure? Something akin to the originals only, or could Ongezellig function under a different form, contrary to what Massa believed about his own experiments? Long-form, short-form episodic, "hybrid"? Do you think slowburn/longform writing is even tenable with such scant original material? Is romance out of the picture for you altogether (that is, barring anything explicit/obscene)? How far outside your personal headcanons or the original canon material would you prefer or allow interpretation to deviate? Is it worth messing with side characters at all, so long as they aren't the primary focus? Do you tolerate original characters as a rule, even minor ones? Self-inserts? Reader-inserts? How do you feel about crossover stuff? Could this ever work, even if only borrowing a "setting" or non-character elements from elsewhere? Have you ever had personal ideas about stories or premeses or the characters worth sharing? Are there any existing fanfictions you consider worthwhile?
