>>90439 From my perspective, comparing an appreciation for the midriff area to a foot fetish is like comparing apples to oranges. I want to clarify that I consider "fetish" to be a strong term based on its definition: "a form of sexual desire in which gratification is strongly linked to a particular object, activity, or body part other than the sexual organs." Personally, I'm not sexually attracted to the midriff area at all. Instead, it's more like something I simply enjoy looking at because it's pretty, it functions as an additional element that enhances a person's overall aesthetic appeal rather than providing any sexual gratification. To illustrate this with an analogy: imagine you're enjoying the best meal of your life, it can always be improved by pairing it with a good drink. The meal stands well on its own, but the right beverage simply enhances the experience. Conversely, while a drink by itself can be pleasant, most would agree it doesn't compare to a good meal on its own. Applied to the midriff, it can be aesthetically pleasing in isolation, but it falls far short of providing the same level of attraction as other aspects of physical appeal. It's really just about visual appeal, the same way you might appreciate a nice landscape or a well-designed piece of art without any deeper meaning behind it. The midriff area can also reveal significant information about a person's lifestyle and character. Consider the different impressions created by various body types. Someone with excess weight around the midsection versus someone very thin, someone with defined abs, or someone with an average build. The midsection serves as one of the most telling indicators of a person's habits, whether they demonstrate self-control with food or maintain the discipline required for fitness. Few other physical attributes provide such immediate insight into someone's lifestyle and mindset. Regarding comparisons to foot fetishes, my understanding (doey I lack personal experience) is that such fetishes often involve elements of degradation. The idea of being so psychologically affected that one believes they only deserve pleasure from what might be considered the least appealing part of someone's body. I find this idea sick. In contrast, appreciation for the midriff can be purely aesthetic and visual, it's just something pleasant to look at. It's difficult to derive sexual gratification from this area alone, and unlike other body parts that can provide direct physical pleasure, the midriff remains largely non-sexual in function. This makes it nearly impossible to objectify in the same way as other body parts. I would argue that this type of aesthetic appreciation might actually be healthier than attraction focused solely on, for example, facial features, which can lead to more sexually focused desires. The midriff is unique among body parts in that it cannot realistically provide direct sexual gratification, making it extremely difficult to view it as a sexual object rather than simply something nice to look at, an aesthetic element that's pleasing to the eye in the same way any beautiful visual might be. And yes I am mindbroken and yes I was bored and had free time to write this.
