what good reasons are there to like the other 'zellig girls other than the most superficial ones that you've completely made up?
coco is desperate for attention and validation so she's created a persona of perfection that she very often uses to exercise superiority over the easy target of her sister whom she stole all that attention from when she was first adopted.
mymy is an unstable, egotistical megalomaniac, so ashamed with her heritage and ethnicity that she's living the life of a nonexistent "dutch" girl because she can't bear to be what she actually is.
maya may not be perfect but at least she's honest.

why does she not simply say "because i want to hang out with you." ?
is that a good thing to do to your sister that's going through a terrible moment in her life? especially after slowly but surely taking everything from her after you were adopted? i.e. care, attention, and her beloved pet cat (because muh hecking allergies we need to IMMEDIATELY get rid of your cat).
