I makes sense he got depressed from it, he "wasted" over 6 years of his life and only has 25 minutes to show for it and no chances of a proper show because no dutch company wants to produce a niche cartoon. Massa has always said he was unbothered by the fandom not caring what anyone thought or did, he wasn't cucked to let whatever people influence his thoughts on ongezellig, he made it for himself mostly but outgrew it, so it no longer was important to him.
