>>57588 It's purely from a story perspective, Maya is, in fact, an antihero, she does only what is good for herself without too many qualms about the others (but doesn't do it out of malice). You could actually argue that Coco is less moral than Maya because at least Maya follows her own anti heroic moral, while Coco will literally resort to potentially killing something over a mildly offensive sentence and that her nice facade is just that. The show wants you to make you feel bad for Maya, it literally tries to do that multiple times over multiple shots and with its bleak tone, but it also wants you to try and get into Coco's thought process, by showing how absurd Maya's counter thought process can be at times (Deel 4 is a great example of that). Also Maya is the most compelling character, because she's the most detailed and explored one, close second being Coco
