actual creator of agugu here. here is my theory on how agugu was able to spread so much:
-it's easy to make (all you need is to make the eyes bigger and slap on a binky png), but the end result is very striking. whatever emotion it invokes in the viewer, it does it sharply and effectively. personally i find it very hilarious, some find it very cute, some find it very infuriating. so the effort-reaction ratio has pretty good margins, for little effort you get lots of reaction, and naturally many people wanted to indulge in this scheme.
-it is an exceptionally potent bait when used in soysphere environments, guaranteed to produce seethe. and as you know, soyteens require seethe to live. so many baiters preferred agugu.
-there is something about agugu that attracts autistGODs like a moth to a flame. if you have a certain type of 'tism you are prone to becoming obsessed with agugu. i think it's because of the huge shiny eyes and the thoughtless expression, makes autists relate to it on a spiritual level. and since there are many autistDEITIES in soyzellig, it thrived here.
