Keep in mind that the diary is from Maya's perspective. She perceives Coco as a patronizing and antagonisitc. I think Coco is just naive, lacking understanding of how Maya feels and a bit socially unaware. Of course she has trauma from losing her original family and sometimes that trauma outs itself, mabye in violence.
