I did read this thread a day before and thought a lot. I finally got my thoughts together and I want to tell you: neither is blame to. Coco nor Maya. I mean, They did everything they could to delay this moment. But anyway, they lead to that. Essentially, they had reached a situation where they could no longer lie to each other. Like, did you hear how Coco's excuses changed? And did you hear how Maya demanded more sincerity from Coco, realizing that her excuses were bluff? Eventually, they have said what they really felt and none of them could take it not to heart. It seems to be the main charm of the scene. Unlikely that would happen different. We all understand they didn't mean to cause each other the pain they did with their words, and when one of you says “she didn't wanna hurt her” and then blames the other sister in such an act, it looks comically, because neither sister really reacted to each other, they simply spontaneously tried to protect themselves from the problems which were brought upon them. We see that at least Coco tried to understand Maya and even apologizes to her for offending her. Maya probably regrets it as well, but she's too weak in the psychical term to admit it to herself (basically a trivial protective reaction of the mind). I once read in a thread that before she left her delusional island and “woke up” in the toilet, she did say “I don't need any of you, the inly friend that I need is...” and next the monologue ends with “my presentation”. It is quite obvious that she wanted to say “something else”. According to logic (or voices in my head, call it what you want to), there would most likely have been an unexpected turn for Maya, in which she would suddenly realize that her only friends were her adoptive sisters. Or something. I don't know what I shitted out. It's night now and I have insomnia, so think of me as a schizophrenic (i.e. as an average user of the site)
