FACT: In the United States, immigrants commit less crimes than native born. The unemployment rate has only gone down, so they don't deprive native born citizens of jobs either. Immigration is an important part of the US economy.

It only matters if the effects of such things affect people alive today. Jim Crow and historical systemic barriers obviously affect blacks today. This is observable in how black immigrant groups preform better than American blacks in every way. They didn't have to deal with those historical wrongs. Something like the janissary system, for example, while  being a historical terror. Is not relevant because no one today is affected by it.
