>>1122 >There is an English community because we're on YouTube and it's inevitable. Beyond that it becomes complicated to explain but to be brief: we don't know. Long ago, someone - speculated to be a staff member - spammed it on 4chan's /qa/ board which produced the fanbase as it existed before I joined, but how it came to be before that is ambiguous. One of the first threads on 4chan's /co/ board was made three days after the first part published (in 2018) so it's likely the creator or an associate attempted it as advertising but we have no tangible evidence to prove such. >Gem, coal and related terms are slang originating from Sharty culture. Not to say anyone here is actually necessarily from the Sharty, just that since many /qa/ fans of Ongezellig migrated to the Sharty such terms are intrinsically tied to the show and are effectively traditional. Gem means positive while coal is negative. And don't ask what a Sharty is, you don't want to know. >No, you're not crazy, you're just surrounded by crazies. >Not sure what you mean by cursed, but there's so much stuff because we love it and want to see more of it. The creator can't realise anymore official parts since it's incredibly stressful both working on it and his real job, so he either needs to get sufficient funding to make it his full time job or get sponsored by an animation studio; both require people to know it exists yet for a long time there's been extremely little to absolutely no fan content, so one would need to discover the show directly or have it recommended to realise that end and that's been incredibly unlikely. At least, unlikely until a month and a half ago when we started making so much cursed stuff.
