I liked doom 2016. It was fun to play (although the movement was still downgrade from games like quake and gldsrc/source games) and i liked the art style. I also liked the multiplayer (its not on my standard for a good multiplayer game, but i still enjoyed it) Eternal was just meh for me, art style wise (never bothered to play it). It looked like badly done nostalgia bait that had no consistency with doom 2016. Also i had no interest in the new multiplayer (they somehow managed to make it even more uninteresting then 2016 + iirc ==THERE'S NO SERVER BROWSER==). Another thing that i think was missing was custom levels (atleast on launch, idk about now). Some people were talking about quake being rebooted, but i have absolutely no trust in anybody in the current gaming industry. Multiplayer will prob be some matchmaking bullcrap (like they did with quake champions; that also means a lot of restrictions as to what players can and cannot mod) and even the basic movement will fill restricted (to appeal to the consol market). I just wish for a game with a focus on community servers, fun gameplay, unique atmosphere (music, artstyle etc), good moding tools and descent optimization. Bloody nerds in their mom's basment used to do all of these things, but a more developed industry full of troons cant make one of the things mentioned.
