Holy trvkes, albeit there's still people who get peddled as artists and are still remember, say Duchamp, the only thing Duchamp did was challenge the idea of art as something deep and instead that art could be "shitposted" and have the same exact value. And he's still remembered. That's the problem, art, real art sometimes gets confused with challenging ideas and muh progress and subverting expectations. That is also wrong, and I think your thought about art that evokes emotions and deep thoughts into those who see it, is in fact, the correct idea
