>Only been here a month and from what I understand is that before the most recent spike in popularity the loudest (and still to some extent) members were people from 4chan/zarty part of the fandom. Mostly they are obsessed with Mymy and contort it into her character into being a symbol for their bigotry, and are minor community based reason it has taken a while for the show to gain some popularity. They loved trying to gatekeep the show from people they consider normies, but their influence has started to wane as evidenced by their failed attempt to raid this subreddit on Coco’s birthday last week. If they were not as vocal early on the show might have gained more traction.
