This site more dnb than sharty. Hitler let five gazillion british soldiers escape from dunkirk encirclement in 1940 only because in munich agreement or something brits and french literally gifted czechoslovakia to hitler. Hitler later ordered luftwaffe to bomb london civilians instead of fully destroying british air forces. Albeit Germany would win even under these circumstances only if hitler didnt decide to start second front in 1941. Hitler started the war with soviets solely just to distract major wehrmacht and luffwaffe forces from britain war. Hitler loved britkikes. Thoughbeit in late second war period, british air forces targeted german cities purely to bomb german civilians, Dresden as example. 
If germans easily killed trapped brits in dunkirk and completely destroyed british air forces, the war with britain would be a cake-walk. Dont even start babbling about muh hecking "britain rules seas", german U-boats would easily destroy all of these useless warships. Kriegsmarine U-boats proved their efficiency throughout of WW2. 
Hitler either was complete retard in strategy or an obvious traitor.
