An example of when people started to oppose and actively run away from war was Vietnam, this generally set the stage for the negative view that forced conscription has today in the West. People did everything to avoid getting drafted, more liberal values were starting to spread and the fucking hippies weren't helping either. The Iraq war was such an example: the (((causes))) that supposedly warranted the war would call for forced conscription yet that never happened, because it became unfeasible to conscript Americans. If another proxy war came up which involves the US, very few people would sign up for the army willingly (outside of the ultra cucked republicans). Simply put short, lack of generational experience and willingness and optimism led these men to their deaths
