Just another white nation with an own culture.

Racially? Yes. Ethnically they had become a separate nation, but since it's a colonist nation, it has an inextricable connection with the countries where those colonists were from. In case of America, the nation is a handful of the English (WASPs that absorbed the other minor groups of other white colonists), to whom the Germans were grafted, then the Irish, and others. The American nation is like a snowball, saying simply.

It always happens. Similar peoples quickly assimilate with each other, in Europe this is clearly visible in any region or country. Slavs are quickly assimilated by other Slavs, the same with Germanics and etc.
