After all, White Americans aren't Europeans. So no, I am not basking in others' whiteness, I am basking in AMERICAN whiteness, what WE cultivated. Yes, we are European descendants, but we are Americans. Once someone steps off that boat and becomes a citizen, they are now an American, officially giving up any connection to Europe, other than genetically. Say that, they WILLINGLY give up the European identity for an American one.
