I disagree with this. I am a native Litwin (=Belarusian) and know the Belarusian language perfectly. Although I don't know where Mr. Karlovich lives, I know the following counties well: Vilnia, Ašmiany, Lida, Miensk, Navaharodak, Słonim, Słuck, Ihumień, Barysaŭ, Babrujsk and Rečycaa. This seems to be a large part of Lithuania (=former GDL); and everywhere there, natives say "kartopla", not "bulba". I have only heard the word "bulba" in use in Ukraine.
