I'm sure Russia will be fine, but I have my doubts. That Bolshevik Putin using the ROC as a means of indoctrinating the public into believing the war in Ukraine is of a novel cause (I could see Ukraine was getting closer to the West, but the invasion was a bit much). Even the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople condemns the ROC for its support of the government, which makes me sad my Russian brothers have faltered away from Christs' teachings of peace and humility. Along with the crackdown on the UOC aligned with the Moscow Patriarch, that is unjust. I understand the ROC has been aligned with the Russian Empire, but the Empire was a protector of Orthodoxy, which is completely different from the Russia of today. I believe one of two things will soon happen. Either Russia will succumb to Western influence and become a "social democracy" and begin to secularize, or the ROC will become so far away from the other churches, that it will become one of the "non-canonical" sects. Both probably won't happen, but still, it's possible. God save Russia.
